Cold air will be in place following the passage of tonight’s strong cold front.
A chance for a mix of winter precipitation will be possible late Tuesday through early Thursday as an upper-level low-pressure system moves across the area.
The coldest air will occur across the western counties, where the better chances for ice accumulations on roads or bridges will occur. However, all areas should keep up with the latest forecasts in case there are any changes between now and then.
It will be dry, cool, and breezy on New Year’s Eve. By 9 pm temperatures will fall into the 40s and they’ll fall into the 30s after midnight. Wind chills will fall into the 30s or 20s after midnight as a cold front moves through causing north winds to increase.
