Following a near perfect weather weekend for the holidays we will say hello to a strong storm system moving into Texas today.

The storm will bring showers and thunderstorms to the region with showers appearing this morning and thunder expected by the afternoon.

By later tonight, a developed line of storms is likely with mainly a damaging wind threat and isolated embedded tornado threat. Heavy rainfall will also be possible.

The weekend ahead looks to be chilly with chances for rain Saturday and Sunday. Morning low temperatures are expected to be in the 30s and 40s, with afternoon highs reaching the 40s.  Showers possible for most of us on Saturday and shifting to central/eastern Texas on Sunday.
