A weak cold front will move south toward North Texas today, then push through all of North and Central Texas tonight.

A hot, humid, and unstable mid-summer airmass ahead of the cold front will result in isolated-scattered storms late today into tonight.

Gusty downburst winds, frequent lightning strikes, and locally heavy rainfall and flooding are expected to be the main hazards, though some pea hail can’t be ruled out with the most intense activity.

Otherwise, it will be hot and humid with highs well into the 90s with heat index values this afternoon between 105 and 110 degrees across the area.
