A cold front will continue to move south across the area today… bringing with it cooler temperatures. The cooler air will be delayed for much of Central Texas, so a Heat Advisory remains in effect from Lampasas to Waco, to Athens, southward where heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees. In addition, an upper-level disturbance will result in a chance for thunderstorms across much of the area. A few could produce locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Highs will range from the lower-mid 90s north to between 95 and 100 degrees south.
