The Roxton Independent School District will hold their basketball homecoming tonight against Miller Grove.

The girls will play first at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow immediately after with a half-time homecoming ceremony held during the second game. Following the games, there will be a homecoming dance for students in grades 6-12 from 9 – 11 p.m. The cost to enter the dance is $2 and it will be held in the fine arts building on campus. 

Roxton High School announced their 2018 homecoming nominees this week. Nominated were Alexis Anderson, LaRanda Story, Beonshae Neal, Raegan Moore, and Carlee Dake.

Alexis Anderson is the granddaughter of Anita Daniels. Alexis enjoys working in the primary as an aid. After graduation, she plans to attend beauty school.

LaRanda Story is the daughter of Krista and Clayton Hornbuckle. When she graduates, she hopes to continue college to work towards her Doctorate to become a neurosurgeon.

Beonshae Neal is the daughter of Lamecia Lahshuan Neal and the granddaughter of Janice Marie Neal. Beohshae enjoys working in the school cafeteria and volunteering at the Lamar County Humane Society. After graduation Beonshae plays to obtain an Associates Degree and work as a veterinarian assistant.

Raegan Moore is the daughter of Richard Moore, Kimberly and Freddie Corley. She is the granddaughter of Jan and Delbert Pennington. Raegan serves on the yearbook staff as a photographer. After graduating, Raegan plans to obtain a degree in elementary education.

Carlee Dake is the daughter of Marcus and Anita Ellis and Carl Dake. She has been an active member of the Roxton FFA Show Team for the past four years, Vice President and President her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Year for Roxton FFA.  Carlee has played Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball her Freshman, Sophomore, and Senior Years. She has been a member of the Roxton Beta Club all four years, Roxton Crime Stoppers the past two years, and is currently serving on the Student Advisory Board. Upon graduating Carlee plans on attending TWU where she has already been accepted and has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship from there. She will major in Physical Therapy upon her completing her degree.
