Rep. John Ratcliffe’s (R-Texas) Washington staff met with 12 high school essay contest winners from the 4th District of Texas today.

The students were selected to visit the nation’s capital on an all-expense paid trip for winning an annual essay contest put on by the Texas Electric Cooperatives. They joined a group of 150 winning students from across the state of Texas on a “Government-in-Action Youth Tour.”

“I was pleased that this year’s essay contest winners from the 4th District of Texas were able to stop by my Washington office during their visit to our nation’s capital,” Ratcliffe said. “Their elevated interest in government and politics at such a young age is truly inspiring. I’m grateful we have so many Northeast Texans represented as winners in this prestigious state-wide competition.”
