Members of the Prairiland FFA chapter will advance to state after competing in the Area Leadership Development Events Contests in Marshall.

Students competed against 12 teams in each of the six different events. Agriculture Advocacy placed first, Public Relations placed second, Senior Skills and Greenhand Creed Speaking placed third, Radio Broadcasting placed fourth and Senior Quiz placed eighth.

Agriculture Advocacy and Public relations are advancing to the state competition at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville on Dec. 9.

The Leadership Development Events focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization.
