Thomas Joseph [Butch] Hoyt, Jr, age 59 of Detroit, died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his home. Graveside Services will be Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 am in Tuggle Springs Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the Cemetery from 10-11am. Wood Funeral Homes, Deport have charge of the arrangements.

He was born on September 17, 1957 in Houston, the son of Thomas Joseph Hoyt, Sr. and Patricia Blaha. He married Cindy Shelby on December 28, 1975. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his little buddy, Laken and favorite niece, Amy making memories. He always said he was a jack of all trades, and master of none. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Joseph [Colt] Hoyt on August 25, 2003.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Hoyt of Detroit; his father, Thomas Joseph Hoyt, Sr. and wife Janice of Powderly; his mother, Patricia Blaha of Roanoke, Texas; a sister, Rhonda Steen and husband, Russell of Cypress; brother, Don Hoyt and wife Lisa of Plano; stepbrother, Dennis Goynes of Brenham; two step sisters, Teresa Jumper and friend, Curt Woodall of Blossom and Kathy Wilson and spouse, Robbie of Sumner; his mother and father-in-law, Jack and Marilyn Shelby of Detroit; brother-in-law, Alan Shelby and wife Debbie of Detroit; sister-in-law, Theresa Parham and husband, Mike of Hurst ; very special niece, Amy of Cunningham, who he loved like a daughter and her son, Laken Colt, who he loved like a grandson; many other nieces, nephews, who loved him dearly.
