Ray Farmer 91, of Chicota, died at 6:20 AM, Monday, April 15, 2019, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Midway Assembly of God with Rev. Mickey Kelley and Rev. Ray Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Little John Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Donald Ray Farmer was born January 9, 1928, in Chicota to Alvin “Dude” and Emma Booth Farmer. He married Lettie Ellen Dawes on July 31, 1946, in Chicota. Mr. Farmer farmed and ranched retiring just two years ago. He was a faithful member of the Midway Assembly of God for over 70 years and will be greatly missed by his loving church family.
Survivors include his wife, Lettie Farmer; five children, Woody Farmer, Pete Farmer and wife, Brenda, Linda Miller and husband, Larry, Don Farmer and wife, Sherry, and Shirley Posey; thirteen grandchildren, Jamey Posey, Cody Posey, Clint Posey, Erica Westbrooks, April Farmer, Larry Miller, Brian Miller, Jana Uselton, Ashley Norwood, Rob Taylor, Lawana Yosten, Woody Farmer, Jr., and Cristal Mauldin; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, David and Linda McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Ryan Farmer and James Ray Miller; a great-grandson, Casey Evans; three brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons, Larry Miller, Jr., Brian Miller, Rob Taylor, Jamey Posey, Cody Posey, Clint Posey, Zack Uselton, and Blake Uselton.
