Dorothy Anne Perdue 93, of Paris, formerly of Post, died at 7:02 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Paris, Texas. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of cremation arrangements.
Dorothy was born Jan. 22, 1925, in the Block House Settlement of Bee Cave, Texas to Claude and Alma Hudson White. She graduated from high school in Florence, Texas. She received her registered nurses training from West Texas Hospital Nursing Cadet Corps prior to her marriage to Walter Raymond Perdue on April 1, 1946. He died in 1995. Mrs. Perdue worked as a registered nurse in Post, Texas for several years. She attended Bounds Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Wharton of Powderly, Texas; three grandchildren, Magean Pretre and husband, Joe of Hopewell, Texas, Walter Shannon Wharton and wife, Lee Ann of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Amber Dumont of Ferris, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Walter Rex, Dakota, Morgan, Sarea, Marcus, Alex, and Emma; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; four brothers; and her son-in-law, Ronald Wharton.
