Sarah Jane Bost, age 89, left this world, on the morning of Christmas, to join her Heavenly friends and family. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered, by all who knew and loved her. She was a member, and faithful supporter of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Paris, Texas.
Sarah was born and raised in Ellis County, Texas. Throughout her life, she exhibited strength, confidence, and determination as she attained her life goals. She graduated from the dental hygiene program at the accredited Baylor School of Dentistry and began her career in that field. It was there, she met the love of her life and her husband of 59 years, Dr. John L. (Jay) Bost. Together, they enjoyed a lifetime of traveling, golfing, thoroughbred horse racing, and making memories. Sarah also devoted her time and exuberant service to the state of Arkansas while conducting her duties as State Representative. As a self-taught and accomplished artist, she was honored to have a piece of her art displayed in the State Capitol.
Less than one year ago, Sarah lost her soulmate, and beloved husband, Jay. Side by side, they diligently and lovingly cared for their son, Dr. Dan Glasgow, as he suffered a lengthy illness before losing his battle with cancer. This was an example of their loyalty to family and one another.
Sarah was also preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Sarah Hightower; brother, Hershel Hightower; and sister, Sybil Barrow. She is survived by her brother, Rusty Hightower and wife Peggy; two grandsons and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held, in honor of Sarah Jane Bost, on February 15th at 2 p.m. at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, Texas.
