Tickets are on sale for this year’s Lamar County Humane Association gala, Dog Days of Summer. The event is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday at Love Civic Center, 2025 S. Collegiate Dr.
The third annual gala will take a bit of a twist this year as the group turns it into a party.
“Attendees will enjoy dancing and singing the 80s and 90s with the Mullet Boyz,” the group announced online.
Food will be catered by On Top of It catering. A live auction will also take place throughout the evening.
The Lamar County Humane Association is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, to relieve the suffering of animals, and to educate the public in the humane care and treatment of animals. In carrying out this mission, LCHA members work closely with the city of Paris to find homes for cats and dogs in the city’s animal shelter. Currently, 4,000+ animals pass through the shelter each year; approximately 500 animals are adopted. This gala benefits the organization, helping them to continue to provide shelter for pets.
