Man injured in wreck Monday needs help || Shane Brown

The man injured in an 18-wheeler wreck on Monday is in need of the community’s help.

Shane Brown was flown to the Medical City of Plano on Monday with severe spinal cord injuries, according to his wife, Nicki.

“He has no medical insurance,” she said. “He has a long recovery ahead of him – possibly 18 months or longer.”

To help, a GoFundMe page was created with a goal of $10,000. So far, a little more than $900 has been collected. The money will go toward medical and household expenses, as Nicki is having to take off work to be with her husband during this time.

“Please pray for Shane’s spinal cord to completely heal in order for him to walk again,” family members said. “Please keep this family in your prayers.”

For those who would rather donate through a bank, go to First Federal and donate to Nicki and Shane Brown’s account. Alternatively, you can mail a check to: First Federal Community Bank for Nicki and Shane Brown, 630 Clarksville Street, Paris, TX 75460.

In addition, a benefit will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the Elks Lodge in Paris from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.

“We’ll have live music, a silent and live auction and barbeque sandwich lunch plates,” family members said. “All proceeds will go directly to the Brown family.”
