Parisians have the chance to plant a tree in honor of a loved one as part of the city’s downtown revitalization project.

With the Toole Design Group’s recommendations, Paris City Manager John Godwin said city officials have plotted on a map where the trees are needed and what species best fits each plot downtown.

“The trees will be six-eight feet tall,” Godwin said. “A plaque can be added, but is not planned for every tree.”

The cost is $350 per tree and can be purchased by calling Paris City Clerk Janice Ellis at 903-784-9428 or Main Street Coordinator Cheri Bedford at 903-784-9293.
