Paris Balloon and Music Festival organizers are excited for tonight’s activities

-

The fourth annual Paris Balloon and Music Festival is set to light up the skies this evening at the Lamar County Fairgrounds beginning at 5 p.m.

Lena Spencer, the event organizer, encourages the community to get out and take part in the evening’s festivities.

“It’s so much fun to watch as the balloons inflate and all the work the crew put in to get the balloon to stand up,” Spencer said.

Once the balloons are standing, the caution tape separating guests and balloons will come down, “and guests are encouraged to go out on the field and check out the balloons up close.

“The pilots are so friendly and it will be a great chance to take some pictures,” Spencer said.

Spencer said for those interested in volunteering as balloon crew for the event still have a chance to do so. Those interested can visit the white balloon crew tent at the festival.
