Law enforcement officers work each day to serve and protect the community. Often a thankless job, these men and women deserve appreciation. That is why each year we celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, giving residents an opportunity to show their appreciation for those who put their lives on the line each day to keep us safe.

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was founded in 2015. Concerns of Police Survivors, otherwise known as C.O.P.S., the FBI National Academy Associates, the Fraternal Order of Police, the International Association of Chief of Police, the Officer Down Memorial Page, Law Enforcement United, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, International Conference of Police Chaplains, National Troopers Coalition are a few of the organizations supporting this day.

There are many ways to show your support of those serving our community. Some of those include wearing blue, turning social media profile pictures to blue, shining a blue porch light, and more. Below is a list of the law enforcement officers who serve the Paris and Lamar County areas. Send them a thank-you in the comments below and let’s show them how much we appreciate them.
