Santa Claus is coming to town when Christmas in Fair Park kicks off today at Red River Valley Fairgrounds.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. and run through 8 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
“We have almost 100 vendors who will be there,” said event organizer Rita Haynes. “Each year, it seems to get bigger and better and I’m excited to see what this year brings.”
Food and craft vendors will fill more than four buildings at the fairgrounds, with everything from your favorite food truck treats to unique gifts for friends and family. Santa Claus is expected to make an appearance and pose for photos. Bounce houses and pony rides will also be available for children to enjoy.
“It’s a great time for the family to get together and come browse what the vendors have,” Haynes said. “It’s also just fun to walk around looking at all the decorations.”
The festivities will start back up Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
Haynes said volunteers are still needed to help with cleanup after the event. For more information, call Haynes at 903-785-7972.
