The biggest fundraiser of the year for a program helping to mold community youth is coming Dec. 7.
The local Boys & Girls Club will have its 69th annual charity auction at 6 p.m. in downtown Paris at 1st Street Studios, 14 1st St. S.E.
“Last year we raised about $160,000 and we need to reach that goal again this year to be able to meet our club’s requirements,” said Auction Committee member Montgomery Moore. “We serve about 200 children between the Paris and Clarksville clubs and offer everything from sports to educational programs after school for these children.”
All money raised will go directly to the club’s 2019 budget.
Auction items include things such as catered dinners, a trip to South Padre Island and much more. In fact, nearly 300 items will be available for auction and can be viewed at bcgparis.com later today when the site goes live, Moore said.
For those unable to make it in person, bids will be taken by phone at 903-609-8809. A live stream of the auction can be viewed on Suddenlink channel 99.
“We are also accepting sponsors for children,” Moore said. “The cost to sponsor a child for a year is $300. To make a cash donation, or to sponsor a child, call our office at 903-784-6360.”
