SCAM ALERT: Scammers pose as Microsoft representatives

From the Paris Police Department:

The department has received a report of scammers posing as representatives of Microsoft calling wanting to ‘fix’ your computer because it is infected with a virus.

Microsoft does not monitor your computer and these are scammers who are wanting your personal information or access to your computer to find your personal information. Keep your guard up, if you receive one of these calls, disconnect.

If there is something wrong with your computer, most likely you will see an issue before anyone calls you about it. The photo below is a screenshot of a virus pop-up, they come in a lot of different forms. What is pictured below is a scam attempt with phony numbers, please do not call them.
