It takes work, time, sacrifices, maybe more money upfront, learning to budget, a shift in mindset, learning to say no, letting go of possibly everything you believed or were taught was “healthy” and so much more!
While a healthy lifestyle change may seem to require a lot, it really requires just one thing at the end of the day. It must become a priority to you.
There is a common language that I frequently hear out of the mouths of people who desire to make a change, BUT..”I’m just so busy.: “If only I had more time in a day.”
I know that life is busy. I know that you have things that you have to get done, families to take care of, events to be at, etc., but let’s be honest here. What you are really saying is that the specific things in your life that “prevent” you from making a healthy lifestyle change really just hold more of a priority in your life. However you fill your days and spend your free time is perfectly fine to me. That is your freedom of choice, but own those choices as taking higher priority in your life over making a healthy lifestyle change rather than using them as an excuse.

At the end of the day, we all make time for the things that are a priority to us. Do we not?
So do you want to make a healthy lifestyle change? Before you do ANYTHING, the first step is that it must become a priority. When something become important enough in our life, nothing will get in the way of us making it happen. It becomes non-negotiable.
The next step would be to understand that it is a journey and starts by taking one small step at a time. It doesn’t have to be an overnight transformation and realistically never is. The important thing is that you just start. Anywhere. Just start.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by where to start, I will post soon on my top things to start with when making a healthy lifestyle change. Until, next week…
