United Way of Lamar County sets cat food drive, special cat adoption event

-

United Way of Lamar County has announced its Cat Food Drive set for July 15-19.

According to Jenny Wilson, United Way of Lamar County executive director, many seniors don’t have the funds needed to keep their companions fed.

“Recently, Lamar County Meals on Wheels held a pet food drive for their clients with pets,” Wilson said. “Good news is they received a lot of dog food, but they are still in need of more bags of cat food.”

Bags of cat food can be dropped off at the United Way of Lamar County office, 2340 Lamar Ave. from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Monday-Friday.

In addition to the cat food drive, United Way of Lamar County is partnering up with Baby Gunn’s Animal Rescue to hold a special cat adoption event from 1-4 p.m. on Friday at United Way.
