This year’s Spirit of Giving event is set for Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018.

From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., volunteers will be handing out gifts such as toys, bicycles, blankets, food, baby supplies and coats.

“It is a giant community garage sale, but everything is free,” said Brad Aldridge, pastor at Christ Community Church. “There are about 25 organizations that will have a station giving away something different. Anyone who wants to come can come and get some stuff.”

Aldridge said he is expecting around 2,500 people to come and partake in the event.

“It’s just a way for people to get into the spirit of giving,” he said.

The way it works, he said, is people will check in and get four tickets per member of their party and that ticket can be exchanged for an item. No proof of income or identification is needed.

“Just come and enjoy,” he said.

The event will take place in the courthouse parking lot, 119 N. Main St., in Paris.
