Two free evenings of music are offered next week by Paris Junior College. A student recital will be held Monday at 7 p.m., and a Christmas Concert and Sing-Along is featured for Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Monday’s event features voice, piano and guitar students performing their semester projects at 7:00 p.m. in the J. Shaw Recital Hall in the Music Building.
Tuesday’s concert will be held in the beautiful DeShong Chapel at 7:00 p.m. The Christmas Concert and Sing-Along encourages the audience to join in the celebration of many favorites.
“The piano, voice, and guitar students will perform at the music recital featuring the works of Mozart, Kabalevsky, Sor, Schubert, and more,” said Dr. Michael Holderer, PJC music instructor and director of choirs. “Bring your best voice to the Christmas Concert and Sing-Along for old and new favorites.”
Some of the songs to be performed at the Christmas concert include “Still, still, still;” “Deck the Halls;” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen;” “O Come, All Ye Faithful;” “The First Noel;” “Coventry Carol;” “In dulci jubilo;” “Gloucestershire Wassail;” “Wassail Song;” “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming;” “O Tannenbaum;” … and more.

For information about either performance, email Dr. Holderer at mholderer@parisjc.edu.
