Free women’s safety class slated for May 23 at Heritage Hall

A free women’s safety class is slated for May 23, 2019, at Heritage Hall.

“We are hosting the event because everyone wants the women in their life to feel safe,” said Owner of Heritage Hall Jokyle Varner. “Today’s world can be scary. If our mothers, wives, daughters, etc., find themselves in a position where they don’t feel safe, we hope this class will give them some tools to remain safe.”

Taught by officials from the Paris Police Department, the free event is expected to last about an hour and a half, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

“There will be situational-type scenarios discussed,” Varner said. “In general, it is ideal to remain alert about your surroundings. There are a handful of simple techniques that can be used to keep yourself safe.”

The event is free and no sign-up is required. Women of all ages are encouraged to attend.

Heritage Hall is at 1009 W. Kaufman Street in Paris. For more information, call 903-517-9303.
