Two men are behind bars after allegedly firing shots outside their vehicle on Kessler Drive Tuesday, January 8.
The Paris Police Department responded to the 2800 block of Kessler Dr. shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday after a caller reported shots had been fired.
The caller said a small white SUV had driven by a residence and someone in the vehicle had shot at two subjects standing in a driveway. According to the caller, the SUV left the area as well as the individuals in being shot at. The vehicle was later located by a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper in the 3900 block of FM 195 and the trooper had detained two people that were inside the vehicle.
The investigation led officers to obtain a search warrant at the residence where they found narcotics and a stolen handgun inside. Parris Quintez Hughes, 23 of Paris, was arrested and charged with manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, theft of a firearm, and possession of marijuana.
Also arrested was Zakary Tyler Nunn, 21, on two outstanding warrants charging him with unlawful restraint and assault family violence by impeding breathing. These warrants stemmed from a November 5, 2018, investigation where an assault was reported in the 400 block of NW 18th St.
The investigation of the shooting is still ongoing. No photos of the two suspects are available at this time.
