A man has been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police say he threatened his former boss with a knife.

Paris police were called to the 3000 block of N.E. Loop 286 around 9 p.m. on Saturday for reports of a disturbance.

Curtis Garrett with the Paris Police Department said when officers arrived, they were told a Hispanic man was intoxicated and was being fired from the company that he works for after threatening other employees.

“The man, 33-year-old Roland Balderas Vasquez, was removed from the room that he was staying in and was awaiting a cab,” Garrett said. “He later returned to the room of his boss and brandished a knife, threatening him.”

Vasquez was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was later transferred to Lamar County Jail.
