A man is behind bars after police say he tried to pass a fake $100 bill over the weekend.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Paris police were called to the 1400 block of 19th Street N.W. for reports of a forgery.

“It was reported that an African-American man attempted to pass a fake $100 bill,” said Curtis Garrett of the Paris Police Department. “A description of the vehicle was given and the vehicle was later observed in the 1200 block of N. Main Street.”

Kerry Ray King, 38, was found to be in possession of the fake $100 bill.

“He admitted to attempting to pass the bill at several locations for real money,” Garrett said.
