A woman is behind bars after police say she assaulted two officers and resisted arrest when police found her attempting to drive intoxicated.
Police confronted Lindsey Rae Thomas, 26, around 7:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of N.E. Loop 286 on Tuesday.
Curtis Garrett of the Paris Police Department said officers found her to be intoxicated.
“Thomas was attempting to leave the scene with a child in the vehicle,” Garrett said. “She was placed under arrest and resisted being placed into the patrol vehicle.”
Garrett said once Thomas was at the jail, she assaulted two officers.
“Thomas was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and two counts of assault of a public servant,” he said. “She is awaiting transfer to Lamar County Jail.”
