A woman is behind bars after firing a gun during an argument Thursday morning.
Around 7:15, Paris police officers were called for shots fired in the 900 block of E. Center Street. Curtis Garrett with the Paris Police Department said when officers arrived, they were told two people were arguing and a woman left the scene to retrieve a gun from a family member.
“Upon her return, she fired two shots into the air and left the scene again,” Garrett said. “The woman was identified when she drove back by the scene.”
Garrett said officers made contact with Constance Renee Berry, 23, who stated she threw the gun out of the window somewhere on 271 N.
She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. She was later transferred to Lamar County Jail.
