Deputies located and arrested an adult male suspect, a family member to the deceased. Cass said the suspect had allegedly shot the victim outside the residence.
“The male suspect, whose name will not be released until family notifications have been made, was taken into custody and transported to the Lamar County Jail awaiting magistration,” Cass said. “The male suspect was charged with murder.”
He said sheriff detectives and Texas Ranger Stacy McNeal are investigating the alleged homicide.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to this family,” Cass said.
