Kari’s Law to go into effect September 1

There’s a new law hitting the books in September that will affect businesses in Texas who operate using a multi-line telephone system (MLTS). Owners of MLTS in Texas are now required to provide direct-dial access to 9-1-1 without having to dial an additional digit, such as 9 first before getting outside the line. Senate Bill 788, also known as Kari’s Law, will go into effect September 1, 2017, for businesses that this applies to. The bill was signed by Gov.
