Sunshine and warmer temperatures in store this week || April 16, 2018

It’s still unseasonably cold outside in Northeast Texas, but it’s expected to move up a little bit this week. Temperatures have dropped down to the  30s overnight the past few days, but they will start to climb back to the 50s and 60s overnight during the week. Highs are expected to climb to 80 degrees on Tuesday and will hold in the 70s the rest of the week. Weekend weather outlook with Daniel Starks

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, has just updated their risk areas for severe weather today, and the majority of our region is under a Slight Risk (2/5) However, portions of Franklin and Titus counties are under an Enhanced Risk (3/5), and Texarkana is under a Moderate Risk (4/5). The main threats for today’s severe weather are very large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Areas in the Moderate Risk zone could see strong tornadoes.
