Police are searching for a suspect after a teenager was reportedly robbed at gunpoint Monday.

Shortly before midnight, Paris police officers were called to the 2200 block of E. Price Street for reports of an armed robbery. Curtis Garrett of the Paris Police Department said when officers arrived, they were told an 18-year-old Parisian reported he had been robbed at gunpoint.

“The victim advised officers that he was sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot, waiting on a friend, when someone opened the back door of his vehicle,” Garrett said. “As the victim attempted to turn around to see who opened the door, he observed a gun being pointed at him.”

Garrett said officers were told the suspect demanded the victim’s wallet.

“When the victim complied with the demand, the suspect exited the vehicle and ran off,” Garrett said. “The suspect is described as a tall, slender male wearing a flat-brimmed cap and a black hoodie.”

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
