For the third consecutive year, the public has been invited to enjoy Coffee with a Cop at McDonald’s on Lamar Avenue on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 7 – 9 a.m.
“The owner approached us and we’ve really had a great time. It’s important to be able to talk to other people as a person, rather than while you’re on a call for service,” said Chief of Police Bob Hundley at last year’s Coffe with a Cop. “It really lowers the guard on both sides, and people realize that you can have a conversation with a cop without going to jail.”
The Police Department and the restaurant are both aiming to make this an ongoing annual event.
Paris police officers will be at McDonald’s until 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning sipping coffee and free to chat.
McDonald’s offers a free small coffee and cookie for citizens that come into to take part.
