University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic contests help students sharpen their academic skills.  North Lamar High School students competed over the weekend to place in Literacy Criticism and Math events.

North Lamar High School’s Literacy Criticism Team won first place at the UIL Academic Meet hosted by Van on Saturday.  Individual successes are Katie Conlin who placed first, Autumn Flick who placed fifth, Riley Cregg who placed sixth and Teagan Holley who placed seventh.  Dr. Linda Winfrey coaches the team.

On Saturday, NLHS hosted the Dr. Joyce Schaeffer UIL Math and Science Meet.  Individual successes are Donato Curvino who placed third in tenth grade Number Sense and fourth place in tenth grade Math.  Kris Kirby placed fourth in eleventh grade Calculator and Matthew Vukcevich placed fourth in eleventh grade Math.
