It could be argued that small businesses are the bread and butter of small towns turning strangers into friends and people into a community.

Scott and Kristi Hearne began their journey of owning their own small business in January 2006 when they opened the doors to Scott’s Collision Center on FM 79.

The Hearnes’ business began to grow and they secured property on Loop 286 in August 2011. The Hearnes sold the collision repair shop in December 2017 and have since realized they really missed the daily interaction with their customers. This led them to purchase another business in the automotive world.

“We purchased Road Runner Tires from Ronnie and Regi Melton at the end of November in 2018,” said Kristi. “Ronnie had established a great business over the past 36 years and it’s our vision to continue to grow on that by earning trust and developing long-term relationships with not only people but their vehicles as well.”

Kristi expressed that while “tires” is in their name it’s only a small part of what they do under the roof.

“We offer tires, alignments, oil changes, brakes, struts, A/C and mechanical needs and more,” said Kristi. “We’re really grateful to our current customers and we hope our community continues to put their trust in us. We’re also excited to meet and serve new customers along the way as well.”

Road Runner Tires is located 2735 N. Main St, near North Lamar High School, and in the event they can’t meet your needs they are committed to pointing you in the right direction.
