On Tuesday evening, Sept 11th, Dr. Fred Williams will be hosting an open house at his office located at 1900 FM 195 in Paris.
A short presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and then he will answer questions regarding the Mona Lisa Touch procedure.
The Mona Lisa Touch is an in-office procedure designed to help patients with painful intercourse secondary to postmenopausal dryness.
“It is a series of three treatments spaced six weeks apart,” Williams said. “There is no downtime and you can return to your normal activities and drive yourself home. The procedure is almost painless. Most patients will start to see some effects after the first treatment.”
Williams said about 85 percent of patients are helped by the procedure and there are no hormones involved.
Patients who are good candidates for the MLT procedure are those who are postmenopausal and are having dryness and discomfort with intercourse.
Patients who are tired of using vaginal estrogen are also good candidates. It can also help with mild urinary incontinence and urgency. Patients who have a history of frequent, recurrent UTIs can also benefit. Breast cancer survivors are another group who stand to benefit from this treatment.
“Usually, they have been cured of their breast cancer but the treatments have robbed their estrogen and severely affected the relationship with their spouse,” Williams said. “The treatment stimulates the vaginal tissues to send out growth factors that help to restore the lining of the vagina and regain function.”

“Please call the office and RSVP as space will be limited to about 20-25 people,” Williams said. “If you can’t make the open house, please call the office to make an appointment or talk with me or one of my staff.”
